Plan C FT to Face Off Real Five FC in 2016 SCB Cup

BERAKAS, BRUNEI-MUARA

Plan C FT have earned a meeting against Real Five FC, the team they most wanted to avoid, but that will not prevent them from relishing a place in the semi-final in the Standard Chartered Cup 2016.

The Brunei-Muara District side ended Standard Chartered Bank FT brave resistance after Abdul Khaalid struck in the 17th minute in a 1-0 win in the opening match.

Real Five FT made it to the last four with a narrow 1-0 victory over BIBD FT, thanks to Mazri Maidin's sixth minute effort.

Mouazhzam, a Liverpool supporter, knows that the competition will be tougher in the advanced stages but vowed work hard to chase the Anfield dream, with the trip to the world's most iconic stadium reserved for the winners.

Meanwhile, HMD FT erased the pain of exit at the same stage last year after Awangku Muhammad Izzat found the winner with 34 seconds remaining in a 2-1 victory over Telbru FT.

The attacker was put through by Md Fauzan, who turned provider after opening the scoring in the seventh minute.

The quarter-final tie looked to be heading into penalties after Telbru's Qamarussalihin equalised from an acute angle a minute from time.

Brunei Shell Lions also progressed to the last four after surviving a penalty shootout scare against FMN FC, with both sides unable to break the deadlock in normal time.

Hazzmie scored the winning penalty for Brunei Shell Lions after FMN FC's goalkeeper missed his spot-kick.

The semi-finals and final will kick off tonight at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex with Plan C FT and Real Five FC playing first followed by HMD FT against Brunei Shell Lions.

The winners of the Standard Chartered Cup will win a trip to Anfield to watch Liverpool host Watford in the English Premier League on May 7.
