A former Senior Manager at Data Stream Technology, DST Sdn Bhd, Zulkifli bin Haji Talip was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment after he was found guilty by the court on two counts under Section 6a of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 131.

 

Investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, ACB revealed that the Defendant had attempted to obtain gratification in the form of 5 percent commission from the Managing Director of Pea's Company Sdn Bhd as a reward for DST projects worth $923,593.60. Further investigations found that the Defendant had accepted a gratification in the amount of $15,000 being part payment of 5 percent commission of the total value of projects awarded to Pea's Company Sdn Bhd. The Defendant was found guilty after trial before the Honourable Senior Magistrate Harnita Zelda Skinner who sentenced the Defendant to 12 months imprisonment. The prosecution of the case was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Hjh Suriana binti Hj Radin while Kamal bin Shaari represented the Defendant.
