SOUTH BARITO, KN - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Dusun Selatan Police (Dusel), South Barito Police (Barsel), Central Kalimantan Police arrested SA (53) suspected of assaulting his younger brother SN (33), Thursday (29/9/2022) night.

The perpetrator carried out the persecution using a machete, it happened at the perpetrator's house on Jalan Kartini, Buntok Kota Village, Dusun Selatan District, South Barito Regency at around 18.30 WIB.

Barsel Police Chief AKBP Yusfandi Usman, S.I.K., M.I.K. through the Dusel Police Chief, Ipda H. Tonie, said the incident began when the perpetrator came to the victim who was sitting in front of the perpetrator's house.

Then, the perpetrator who works as a tailor asked the victim, who said that the perpetrator was not allowed to enter the shop.

However, the victim answered the question by challenging the perpetrator to a fight. Hearing this, the perpetrator immediately went to the kitchen and took a machete. SA then returned to the front of the house and immediately slashed the younger brother with the machete he was carrying.

"There was resistance from the victim by swinging his helmet at the perpetrator, but the perpetrator managed to escape," explained the police chief.

The result of the fight, continued the Sector Police Chief, caused the victim to suffer lacerations to the hands, right side of the body and head and had to receive intensive care at the Jaraga Sasameh Hospital.

After the bloody incident, the perpetrator felt guilty and then surrendered himself to the Dusel Police Office to take responsibility for his actions.

"It's true, at this time we have secured the perpetrator and the evidence and for his actions are threatened with Article 351 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 4 years," said the police chief. (bow/sam)
