Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle clinched their second Copa Sudamericana title in four years on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Brazil's Sao Paulo in the final.
Lautaro Diaz set Independiente on their way with a 13th-minute strike following Lorenzo Faravelli's through ball.
Diaz then returned the favor as he provided the final pass for Faravelli to slot home Independiente's second goal in the 67th minute.
Sao Paulo finished the match with nine men after the stoppage-time dismissals of Jonathan Calleri and Diego Costa. Calleri was booked for a second time following a rash challenge on Matias Fernandez, while Costa was shown a straight red card for violent conduct.
The result earns Independiente a berth in next year's edition of the Copa Libertadores, South America's premier club competition.
The Negriazules, who are based in Sangolqui on the southern outskirts of Ecuadorian capital Quito, won their first Copa Sudamericana title in 2019 when they beat Argentina's Colon 3-1 in the final.
