Mr Thongphan Savanphet has been appointed as a new Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs to serve working requirements within the ministry.

The appointment was announced at the ministry in Vientiane on Sep 30 in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Saleumxay Kommasith and relevant officials.

So far this year, three Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs have been appointed. These include Mr Sengphet Houngbounyuang, Mrs Khamphao Eunthavanh and Mr Thongphan Savanphet.

The appointment of Mr Thongphan is in line with the Decree of Prime Minister No 283, dated August 16, 2016.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister Saleumxay urged the newly appointed deputy minister to dedicate physical and mental efforts to the political designation given to him by the Party and government and to enhance internal unity and lead his organization by example.
