Imams Expect Better Attitude from Children Towards Their Parents

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Religious authorities are saddened with the attitude of those in society who take advantage of their elderly parents' pension allowance to sustain their daily needs.

This was given attention by Imams during yesterday's sermon.

Children would ask for old pensioner allowances despite knowing that their parents are in need of such funds as they have no other source of income.

The sermon also noted that certain parents would simply keep quiet or face isolation to avoid conflict with their children.

Imams urged the whole community to provide love and care to their parents by taking care of their welfare.

The sermon also reminded the Muslim community that the younger generation should be aware that their parents will not be around forever as they will eventually age.

Those  who disrespect their parents may face a similar situation when they grow old as the next generation may fail to carry out their responsibilities towards their elders.

Imams also urged those with late parents to visit their graves in the cemetery and pray for their blessings and to give alms for their well-being in the days of hereafter.
