Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School (SMRIPAS) in Tutong recently held a graduation and awards ceremony for the alumni of 2015.

The guest of honour was Awang Roslin bin Suhailee, the Acting Assistant Director of Co-Curriculum Education Department under the Ministry of Education, who was a former principal of SMRIPAS.

Principal Dayang Hajah Amal Nuriyah binti Haji Ahmad Kumpoh acknowledged the former principal for his hard work in helping the students of 2015 achieve excellence.

Roslin then gave a speech, concerning the importance of co-curriculum in the students' lives.

The presentation ceremony commenced with awards and prizes given to Dayang Majidah Hazirah binti Majid, Dayang Nurul Nabilla binti Abdullah and Dayang Marsyazirah binti Riah, who scored nine 'O' Levels.

Forty-one students were then presented with awards for attaining five to eight 'O' Levels.

Students who received top scores in a subject were also awarded with certificates and trophies. Those identified as having showed improvement between their qualifying and end-of-year exams were also individually awarded.

The Top 10 students in each class received awards for their outstanding 2015 results, along with the Vocational and BTEC students, who received certificates in Art & Design and in Hospitality.

In the special awards category, the Principal's Award went to Dayang Nurul Nabilla binti Abdullah, who scored 99 per cent in Ugama for her November exam.

Dayang Majidah Hazirah binti Majid won an award for the all-round highest achievement in terms of academic studies, school activities and good behaviour.

Awang Mohammad Wusalim bin Abdullah, who consistently displayed respect and diligence while in school, was awarded a sash and certificate.

Teachers were also handed prizes for their hard work. The first prize was given to Dayang Rosidah binti Haji Ladi, for excellent results in her Islamic Studies classes.

Students who scored high in their Year 8 SPE exams were given awards along with the teachers who taught them.

There was even an award for the most exemplary parents. Awang Ahmad Kamil bin Nasir and Dayang Normala binti Bakar, received the Principal's Award, on account of their daughter Dayang Nurul Nabillah's nine 'O' Levels.
