The magistrate's Court yesterday ordered a local woman to settle a fine of $7,000 or serve four months' jail in default after she pleaded guilty to possessing smuggled cigarettes and alcoholic drinks.
Forty-seven-year-old Norsulimah binti Abdullah said she had nothing to declare in her vehicle at the Kuala Lurah Control Post at 10.25pm on September 7, 2016.
The Customs examiner inspected her vehicle and found hidden 20 cartons of cigarettes and three bottles of liquor.
Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid presided over the case.
