National Karate Athletes Preparation

The upcoming 32nd Southeast Asian Games 2023 in Cambodia. Karate is one of the events that Brunei Darussalam contingent will participate in. 12 national athletes will compete at the games. Let's take a look at the training's progress and preparations they have gone through.

 

In the Karate event, national athletes will participate in 8 categories, namely 4 categories in Men's Kumite comprising of 60 kilogrammes, 67 kilogrammes, 55 kilogrammes and 84 kilogrammes and above. While for Kata category, national athletes will participate in 4 categories comprising male and female single kata and male and female kata teams.

 

With continuous training and participation in karate tournaments abroad, it will certainly be a measure for the country's athletes to compete in the bi-annual sports games.

 

Meanwhile, by having continuous training since last year will certainly strengthen the athletes mentally in a competitive environment. The achievements of karate athletes in kata event will certainly be a bet to hunt for medals for the country.

 

The Karate event will start on 6th to 8th May 2023 which will take place at the Chroy Changvar Convention Centre in Phnom Penh.
