A woman has been left feeling "ashamed" after taking two DNA tests - only for her results to come back as "inconclusive" each time. She explained how her brother bought their whole family testing kits for fun but while they all received their results, she was left waiting for answers.

Taking to Reddit, she said: "Everyone did the swab and got their results back which showed how we're all related - but my results came back inconclusive."

She says the company sent her a new DNA kit, thinking her original was damaged in transit or she took the test incorrectly.

But after resending her swabs, she received a personal email from the manufactures. "They sent me a new kit to do it again and that one also came back inconclusive," she added.

"The company sent me an email basically saying I can never do it again probably because I'm using a bunch of resources with no results.

"Now my family says I don't have any human DNA and that I must be a lizard. They make lizard sounds when I'm around and I am ashamed."

While most users couldn't help but laugh at her admission, others speculated why somebody is going to such lengths to "cover up the truth".

One user said: "Someone has gone to a lot of effort to block your DNA truth... What's your mum been up to?"

In response, the woman said: "Emotionally, at this point in my life, I cannot deal with the idea that my mum cheated on my dad with a lizard."

Another user added: "A one night stand with an alien?"

A third user said: "My husband also has no DNA according to [his test]. We now say it's because he's an alien."

One more user said: "Yep, she hatched from an egg."
