​Two Indonesian men were sentenced by the Bandar Seri Begawan magistrate's court for four offences under Section 146(1)(D), Excise Order 2006 for possessing customs contraband, namely cigarettes of various brands.

The first defendant, 32-year-old Tedi Taufiq was fined $15,000 or 15 months imprisonment in default for possessing 1 carton, 30 packs and 17 sticks of cigarettes of various brands.

Meanwhile the second defendant, 39-year-old Muhammad Rofiq was fined $33,000 or 19 months imprisonment in default for possessing 36 cartons and 29 packs of cigarettes of various brands as well as cash totalling $728. All items namely the cigarettes and cash were seized.
