​A Bangladeshi was sentenced to 13 months imprisonment after failing to pay a fine of $22,500 for an offence under the Excise Order 2006.

Mohammad Sohag Mia, aged 31, was produced before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrates Court, and pleaded guilty for possessing 28 cartons and 6 sticks of cigarettes of various brands. All contraband were seized to be destroyed.
