April Fool's Pranks We Wish Were True - From Domino's Frozen Range To Alexa's 'Dog Mode'

Frozen Domino's, anyone? (Image: Domino's)

April Fool's Day is officially over - but there were some pranks we kind of wish were true. Like, imagine how good life would be if you could reach into your freezer for a meat feast Domino's pizza...

April Fool's Day pranks have to end at 12pm - meaning the fun is well and truly over now.

If you've successfully convinced your friend and family you've relocated to Peru - or managed to grab a selfie with Taylor Swift at your local McDonald's, well done. Many brands have also joined in on the fun, from Dulux releasing a 'scratch and sniff' range of paint to easyJet changing its name to 'Holibobs'.

But now all of the mischievous jokes are over, we're left feeling a little deflated that some of these pranks aren't true. So, without further ado, these are the top five pranks we *really* wish became a reality.

If you're feeling a little cash-strapped but are craving a Domino's pizza, imagine how amazing life would be if you could just pull a meat feast stuffed crust from your freezer. Domino's fooled the nation with this exact idea, allowing you to reheat your favourite takeaway from the comfort of your own home.

"We're no fools, we know our customers can't get their Domino's fix when stores are closed, so when they started asking us whether they could freeze a Domino's, we thought we'd do it for them," Sam Wilson, Freeze-Master at Domoni's said. "Starting with our most popular pizzas, the range will be available from today for fans to take home and cook a delicious Domino's whenever they want!"

Seriously, when will this become a thing?

Alexa's dog mode

It was always too good to believe, but Amazon pranked Brits this morning by announcing the launch of an Alexa that could translate our dogs' barks into English. Those with furry friends know how incredible such an invention would be.

"We're always looking for new ways to keep our customers connected to their loved ones, so why should that stop at human interaction?" said Meryem Tom, Managing Director at Alexa UK and Ireland.

"As a nation of dog lovers, we recognise the importance of understanding our dog's needs, however these can often get lost in translation. Alexa's new Dog Mode hopes to bridge this gap, offering a response that your dog will understand that is tailored to match the emotions expressed in their bark."

Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to wait a while to see whether our pooches really do like it when we speak to them like a baby.

Babybel cheese will always be iconic, but imagine how good a Babybel Inferno would taste. The dairy giant today joked it had launched a circular cheese 'with an intense twist infused with the world's hottest ghost peppers'. In fact, the Babybel Inferno is so hot that lab technicians had to suit up in protective gear! Seriously - why is this not in supermarkets already?

Pizza on wheels

Airport food can be a little questionable at times, but Heathrow Express and PizzaExpress joined forces to transform a plain old train carriage into the world's first moving pizzeria. Again, less joking and more making this a reality please!

The concept would serve holidaymakers setting off from London Paddington to Heathrow airport, which sounds dreamy. "When it comes to our express service, we're not messing around," said Mark Eastwood, Commercial Strategy Lead at Heathrow Express. "It's time to cater for hungry holidaymakers who want a slice of summer as soon as they get on board our Heathrow bound PizzaExpress Train."

'Beerscuit'

If you love beer and love biscuits - why not combine them both together? Shropshire brewery Hobson debuted their biccie-based pint 'glass' that's designed to absorb beer as it's drunk.

The oat-based drinking vessel was created following a collaboration between Hobsons Brewery, based in Cleobury Mortimer, and acclaimed beer academic Professor 'Pints' Powers, who ran laboratory tests to determine the best combination of biscuit and beer. It may be a prank, but give us a Bailey's in custard cream glass and we're there...
