​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience His Excellency Dr. Mohamad Maliki bin Osman, Minister, Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore and delegation. Accompanying His Excellency were His Excellency Desmond Tan Kok Ming, Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office; His Excellency Laurence Bay Siow Hon, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam; and Ms. Yeo Wan Ling, Member of Parliament.

Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd. Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd. Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; and Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.

His Excellency and delegation are in the country for a five-day visit until 15th April to represent the Government of the Republic of Singapore to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The visit, which included visits to open houses, clearly demonstrates the special and unique friendship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore, furthermore enhancing the existing long-standing relationship between both countries. The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, 13th April afternoon.

During the audience ceremony, His Excellency conveyed Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Singapore to His Majesty. The close friendship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore has developed human resources in the government sector as well as economy in the private sector through various bilateral cooperation. In further strengthening the relationship, both countries also work closely through initiatives under memoranda of understanding.
