The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, JASTRe issued a compound fine to an individual for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021.
Awangku Yusri Bin Pengiran Yussof was found littering at Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge area. He was fined 100 dollars and given 7 days to settle the compound. Failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court. Individuals who commit an offence under the section, upon conviction, will be liable to a fine of not less than $1,000 and not more than $3,000 for the first offence. A fine of not less than $3,000 and not more than $9,000 and imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or both, for subsequent offences.
