​As a result of being in possession of 6 cartons and 19 sticks of cigarettes various brands, a local man was fined $5,000 or five months imprisonment in default.

Chong Jih Chauwas was detained by customs inspection officers at Sungai Tujoh Control Post in Kuala Belait on 6th April 2023. The accused pleaded guilty. 

All the contraband items were seized to be destroyed.
