The Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court sentenced a business owner for an offence under Section 23 of the Employee Trust Act (Chapter 167), Section 26 of the Supplemental Contributory Pensions Trust Order, 2009 and Section 31, National Retirement Act, Chapter 273.

The owner of Mummy Mya Kitchen was fined $3,000 for failing to make TAP and SCP Schemes as well as National Retirement Scheme (SPK) payments for the employees within the stipulated period. The business owner was ordered to pay the fines and all outstanding TAP and SCP Schemes as well as SPK contributions including accumulated dividends amounting to $2,236.71, not later than 1st of May 2025. In this regard, TAP would like to remind employers to always make payment of employee contributions before the 15th of the following month to avoid late payment fines which include dividend loss charges and service charges.
