Two individuals were issued compound fines for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021 during separate operations carried out by the Licensing and Enforcement Division, Brunei Muara District Office.

Phang Jan Kho was fined $3,000 and Kashem Sheikh was fined $1,000 for dumping rubbish.

The individuals are required to pay the fines immediately and clean up the area that had been turned into an illegal dumping ground. Failure to do so will lead to court proceedings and can be fined not more than $3,000 for individual, while for companies not more than $30,000, sentenced to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 12 months or both.
