Miscellaneous Offences Act

Two companies and 7 individuals were issued compound fines for offences under the Miscellaneous Offence Act, Chapter 30.

 

Syarikat Mita Mehedi Sendirian Berhad was fined $2,000, while a $1,000 fine was issued to Mullah Sendirian Berhad. Lim Tong Nam was fined $500; while Lai Yan Khiong, Najib bin Sulai, Abdul Rahim bin Sulai, Md Delowar Hossen, and Fatin Nikmatul Firdaus were each fined $300, and Ferdian Angga Firmansyah received a fine of $100.

 

All companies and individuals were given 7 days to settle the fine or they will be produced in court. For companies, a fine not exceeding $30,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 12 months or both will be imposed if found guilty.

 

For individuals, they are liable to a fine not exceeding $9,000 in found guilty.

 

In a separate operation, Stonecity Development and Shawlin Welding and Construction were each fined $2,000.

 

Said companies were instructed to clean the areas and settle the fine in 7 days.
