As of December 2024, 122,877 Unified Smart Metering System, USMS have been installed nationwide. The USMS platform is an access towards digitalization of electricity and water supply services inside one module. The service is now can be access via online through USMS website and mobile application.

Through the system, users can monitor their electricity and water supply usages as well as receive SMS notification for low credit which credit purchase can be implemented through various payment alternatives. While the management of outstanding bill payments can be made automatically. Some users gave their opinions on the use of USMS.

USMS aims to achieve the objectives of Wawasan Brunei 2035 through digital transformation by generating towards a more efficient management of electricity and water supply to each user. USMS is an initiative of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Department of Electricity Services and Department of Water Services with Government-related companies namely Berakas Power Company and DST Network Private Berhad.
