Orphans in the country continue to be given care and attention with the contribution of assistance from various agencies including government and private agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations and private individuals. A Donation Presentation Ceremony for orphans was held at Mukim Lumapas, 19th March afternoon.

On hand to present the donations was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs. The recipients were orphans from Kampung Lumapas 'A', Kampung Lumapas 'B', Kampung Lupak Luas and Tarap Bau; Kampung Putat as well as Kampung Kasat. Such a donation is hoped to lessen the burden on the orphans during this holy month and for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
