Following an earthquake and a series of aftershocks that has struck the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and affected Thailand on 28th March 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that Bruneian citizens registered with the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in these countries are safe and accounted for.

 

The Embassies of Brunei Darussalam in Yangon and Bangkok will continue to maintain contact with Bruneians in the respective countries and monitor the situation closely. Bruneians visiting Bangkok are also advised to heed advisories issued by local authorities.

 

Further enquiries about the situation in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Thailand affecting Brunei citizens can be made to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' at 871 6001 and the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Bangkok hotline '+66 92 270 9382' and email '[email protected]'.
