The Religious Ceremony While Waiting For the Result of the Moon Sighting for Syawal 1446 Hijrah was held on 30th March late afternoon. The Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB, convened after the sighting of the new moon of Syawal. Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as the President of MUIB.

Also present, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development. Earlier, there was a presentation of Al-Qur'an reading, tahlil and doa arwah, followed by the mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer.
