Sherri Papini, the subject of Investigation Discovery's Sherri Papini: Caught in the Lie took issue with her sister Sheila Koester getting close with her ex-husband Keith Papini.
There's another bombshell in Sherri Papini's world.
The 42-year-old—who recently broke her silence on her alleged kidnapping in Investigation Discovery's four-part series Sherri Papini: Caught in the Lie—is now alleging that her ex-husband Keith Papini and her sister Sheila Koester have developed a "highly inappropriate relationship."
"She was very involved with being on camera, just as Keith was," Sherri—who shares son Tyler, 15, and daughter Violet, 13, with Keith—said of her sister on the June 11 episode of The Viall Files. "Then she started developing a really inappropriate relationship with Keith. Then they got really close and they still are really close."
"They are still close," she added. "I think that there’s a lot of inappropriate things that have happened between Keith and Sheila and a lot of things that I’ve seen."
While the subject of Hulu's The Perfect Wife didn't go so far as to outright say that Sheila and Keith were romantically involved, she did claim that noteworthy footageof the pair got left on the cutting room floor for Caught in the Lie.
"I had this really cool home video that I had that I was hoping would end up into the film where you see Keith and Sheila engaging physically, in a way," Sherri explained. "Then you hear my dad in the background go, ‘Oh God.’"
E! News has reached out to Keith and Sheila for comment and has yet to hear back.
Sherri disappeared in 2016 while out for a run and emerged 22 days later. The mother of two was arrested in 2022 for allegedly orchestrating her abduction and later pled guilty to one count of mail fraud and making false statements, ultimately serving 10 months of her 18-month sentence.
Sherri said that it was around that tumultuous time in her life that her sister reentered her life.
"I don’t talk to my sister. I don’t have a very good relationship with my sister,” she said. "Sheila and I were never close. We were close for a short period of time. When the abduction happened, and started getting on the news with Keith and started getting highly involved with everything. That’s when she suddenly became a part of my life."
Sherri's allegations about her ex-husband and sister come after she changed her story about her alleged 2016 kidnapping. In the docuseries Caught in the Lie, she accused her ex James Reyes—with whom she admitted to having an emotional affair during her marriage to Keith—of being her abductor.
"I had told law enforcement I had been abducted by two Hispanic women, which wasn't true," Sherri declared in the series. "I was abducted by my ex-boyfriend, who held me captive for 22 days."
"There was no consent," she said in the doc, despite previously telling authorities that she had voluntarily stayed with him. "He still did it. The injuries that occurred, the bites on my inner and outer thigh, the footprint on my back, the brand, the melting of my skin—I can't do that myself. I am telling you there was no consent."
James denies Sherri’s claims and has not been changed in connection to the kidnapping situation. Additionally, he told investigators in the 2022 criminal complaint filed by the U.S. government, obtained by E! News, that he "didn't burn anything on her arm there." He also said that Sherri asked him to create other injuries, although he said he "never laid his hands directly on her." He explained that in one instance, she asked him to "bank a puck" off her leg, which he said he did "lightly."
