Nationwide Recycling Day

Over 1,900 kilogrammes of paper waste, 669.6 kilogrammes of cardboard, 469.35 kilogrammes of plastic bottles, 392.3 litres of used cooking oil, 62 lithium batteries, 578 units of electronic waste and 929 used items were collected during the Nationwide Recycling Day initiative, 22nd June 2025. Organised by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, Ministry of Development in collaboration with local recycling companies, the initiative was held simultaneously in all four districts.
In Brunei Muara District, Nationwide Recycling Day was held at the JASTRe Office Branch, Anggerek Desa and Taman Rekreasi Mini Perayaan Kampung Parit. It is a government effort to raise public awareness and participation in practising recycling.
In Belait District, the campaign was held at the JASTRe Office, Belait Branch. It was one of the initiatives to collect items for recycling.
In Tutong District, the campaign was held at the JASTRe Office, Tutong Branch. The Nationwide Recycling Day initiative also concludes the World Environment Day 2025 Celebration.
The Muhibah Recreation Park Car Park area, Bangar Town, Temburong District was the focus of the campaign. The Nationwide Recycling Day initiative also introduced recycling services available in the country. Among them are Kawan Bumi Sendirian Berhad, Shaliz Waste Recycling Sendirian Berhad, and V-N Recycling Sendirian Berhad.
