A Malaysian man was brought before the Kuala Belait Magistrate's Court on a charge under the Excise Order 2006.

KHO WEI HONG, aged 32, was detained by several customs officers at the arrival section, Sungai Tujoh Control Post, Kuala Belait. During the arrest, the offender was found to be in possession of 19 cartons, 13 packets and 17 sticks of cigarettes of various brands. The accused was fined $16,312 or 13 months imprisonment in default.

All the contraband was confiscated and handed over to the government to be destroyed.
