The Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Laos, in cooperation with the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organisation, on January 25 donated 1,000 blankets, 200 jackets and 20 cows to poor people in Xaybuly district, Savannakhet Province.

The delegation, including Prime Minister’s spouse Mme Naly Sisoulith and some other leaders’ spouses, was led by President of the Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Laos, Mme Sisaliew Thammathava.

Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith’s spouse, Mme Naly said that the donated relief aid package is part of efforts being made to help poor families, proving the care of the Party and Government leaders, who always pay great efforts to reducing poverty among Lao ethnic groups.

The aid package was donated by the general public from domestic and overseas via the Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Laos.

On the auspicious occasion, Mme Naly donated about 43 million kip (over US$5,300) for the development of education at Xaybuly district schools.  The money came from contributions from government leaders’ spouses and children, and the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organisation.
