The Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) was invited to participate in the 4th Borneo Universities Friendship Games for staff of higher education institutions to be held at the University Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

The six-day championship which begins on April 20 until 22, will be participated by 11 athletes from KUPU SB who will compete in four games namely, golf, badminton, ping pong and ten pin bowling.

The flag handover ceremony was held yesterday at the lobby area of the university college.

The KUPU SB flag was handed over by Assistant Ra'es Dr. Abang Haji Hadzmin bin Abang Haji Taha to the head of contingent, Awang Azman bin Haji Kassim.

Speaking in an interview, the head of the contingent said that several training sessions were conducted in preparation for the championship.

"We hope such championships will be continued to build further friendship among the staff members of higher education institutions and at the same time, it will enhance cooperation between higher education institutions in the future," he said.

Among the objectives of participating in the championshio are to uphold the titah of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to produce civil servants who adopt healthy lifestyle, strengthen the ties between KUPU SB and other higher education institutions throughout Borneo, create positive competitive spirit among the participants and increase self-confidence and team spirit regardless of ranking and position.
