Ministry Of Religious Affairs' Budget for the Financial Year 2017-2018

More than 235 million dollars has been proposed for the Ministry of Religious Affairs' budget for the Financial year 2017-2018. The allocation and issues related to the Ministry were deliberated during the first meeting of the 13th Legislative Council which entered its sixth day yesterday.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs while presenting the Ministry's allocation proposal underlined five main programmes under the focus of the budget.
Yang Berhormat said, firstly, they will focus on Management and Administration, secondly on Strengthening of Dakwah including Propagation and Mosque Affairs to ensure the effective dissemination of dakwah and syiar as well as empowering religious practice and assimilation in the country. The third programme is syariah law empowerment. Fourth, is on effective religious education and fifth is efficient halal certification and labels which is to enhance the management of halal certification and labels to strengthen society's confidence and to together uphold the country's halal industry.
