Another 1,300 Houses Allocated For Mid-2017

Up to September 2016, the National Housing Scheme has allocated 27,183 houses and 1,976 land lots to qualified recipients. During the deliberation for the Ministry of Development's budget allocation, the Minister of Development explained that the provision of the National Housing Scheme is the government's main core to ensure the scheme's sustainability in the long-term.

 

Yang Berhormat said that by the middle of this year, another 1300 houses are expected to be allocated, of which more than 70% of the recipients who have been given consent to join the National Housing Scheme, will be home owners. The Ministry of Development through the Housing Development Department has identified a number of areas with the potential to be developed through the PPP method for general housing as well as by providing commercial areas, first, the Phase 2 Lugu National Housing Scheme; second is the Meragang National Housing Scheme, third - Serasa National Housing Scheme, fourth - Penaga National Housing Scheme, fifth - Lorong Tengah National Housing Scheme and finally, Katok  Indigenous Citizens Landless Scheme.
