UNISSA Received Delegation from KPMSI, Perak

GADONG, BRUNEI-MUARA

 

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) received a delegation from Kolej Profesional Mara Seri Iskandar (KPMSI), Perak led by Awang Muhammad Wafiy Hazim bin Abdul Rahim, President of Business Faculty at KPMSI. The delegation comprised six lecturers, 39 male and 65 female students.

 

Welcoming the delegation was the Dean of Business and Management Sciences Faculty (FPSP), Dr. Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani and Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dayang Nurhafizatulhikmah binti Haji Serbini.

 

The theme of the visit was 'Cultural Discovery and Community Service at Kg Ayer'. The theme was based on the cultural differences between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia in terms of language and daily life besides learning the culture of the Kg Ayer community.

 

Among the activities held was an introduction session with the screening of a corporate video, and this was followed by a briefing delivered by senior lecturer of FPSP, Dr. Hajah Rose binti Abdullah.

 

It was followed by a briefing from KPMSI that was delivered by the Director of KPMSI, Dayang Halimahtun Saadiah binti Mohd Taib.

 

A question and answer then ensued, as well as a dialogue, between both parties and concluded with a souvenir presentation. The delegation then took a tour around the campus accompanied by the Student Representative Council of UNISSA.

 

In the afternoon, an indoor activity at the gymnasium of UNISSA was held, which was handled by UNISSA's Sports Exco and Student Representative Council Logistics. Among the activities were Hula Hoop, 'Zero to Hero', Brunei traditional game, friendly futsal match and netball match.

 

Among the objectives of this visit was for KPMSI students to gain experience being with Kg Ayer community. The programme was also intended for learning the cultural difference seen in Brunei by staying at Kg Ayer with foster family there, and the programme allowed for fostering of ties between the two institutions that have different backgrounds and cultures.
