Thirty members of Perguruan Seni Pencak Silat Gerak 41 (PSPS Gerak 41) from BrainWarrior Silat Studio Kiulap were promoted at a ceremony on Friday.

During the ‘Anugerah Sukma Wira’ ceremony, Nine Elite Silat members were promoted to the rank of teachers with titles of Guru Kanan, Guru Madya and Guru Pertama.

Another 21 members were promoted to the rank of coaches, to positions of Jurulatih Utama, Jurulatih Kanan and Jurulatih Muda.

Nine Silat Member successfully underwent the ‘Ujian Kenaikan Arat’ (UKA) for the ‘Prawira’, ‘Ekawira’, ‘Dwikira’ and ‘Triwira’. The promotes were presented with the ‘sandang’, ‘arat’ and certificates.

Attending as the guest of honour was Pengiran Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Ludin, the President of the National Pencak Silat Federation Brunei Darussalam (PERSIB). In his speech, he reminded PERSIB to keep up with changes in Silat trends while maintaining the identity of Brunei.

He also stressed in his speech that there is still a lot of Silat knowledge that hasn’t been taught down properly and effectively to the generation of today.

This is where G41 stands out as one of the main Silat association in Brunei to try to potrayed the difference as well as how self-defence works effectively, yet Silat Brunei will always be in the favour of the public eye.
