KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

Local oil and gas company Gissco Sendirian Berhad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geowell Malaysia to provide support for the wire line industry in Brunei Darussalam.

Gissco Executive Director, Awang Mohd Basri Basir, signed the MoU with Geowell Executive Director cum Project Manager at the Geowell, Awang Mohd Khoirul Kamal bin Haji Mohd Rashid at Geowell headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

The agreement includes conducting a joint training programme which can be organised both locally and overseas.

The signing was witnessed by Awang Haji Mohd Rashid bin Mohd Fahmi, Geowell Managing Director; Awang Mohd Ridzwan bin Haji Mohd Rashid, Geowell Director; and David Khan, Gissco Technical Advisor.

"This is a milestone for both Geowell and Gissco. I believe this would be beneficial for Gissco which ventures into the wire line and slick line services," said Mohd Basri.

Geowell Malaysia is the largest slick line company in Malaysia with 25 years of success with highly experienced people and a vast inventory of high quality equipment.

During the signing ceremony, Mohd Basri said the agreement comes as an opportunity for Bruneians who are interested in the wire line industry. This will boost the level of competency of locals, he added.
