His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon consented to watch the Polo Tournament in the 29th SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017, held at the Equestrian Park Putrajaya between Brunei Darussalam Polo Team and Singapore Polo Team.

His Majesty was greeted on arrival at the Equestrian Park Putrajaya by Yang Berbahagia Dato Mohd Moiz bin Jabir Mohd Ali Muiz, President Royal Malaysian Polo Association and later watched the Polo Tournament between Brunei Darussalam Polo Team and Singapore Polo Team.

Among the players participating for the Brunei Darussalam Polo Team were His Majesty's children, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen and Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah. Also present to watch the tournament were His Majesty's brothers, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, as Manager of the Polo Team.

In the match, Brunei Darussalam Polo Team defeated the Singapore Polo Team by Ten - Eight in Four Chukka and subsequently winning the Bronze Medal.

Also in attendance accompanying His Majesty at the event were the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Awang Mohd Taha, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia.
