The Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) today increased its regional strategic partner network with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with several International Higher Education Institutions. The signing ceremony was held during the 5th ASEAN Universities International Conference on Islamic Finance.

The MOU between UNISSA and Mindanao State University, Philippines; Trisakti University, Indonesia and Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga, Jogjakarta was signed by Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, the Rector of UNISSA. Meanwhile, Mindanao State University was represented by Attorney Saaduddin Alauya Junior, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance of the university. Trisakti University was represented by Doctor Eleonora Sofilda, Secretary Program Magister Economics in Islamic Economic and Finance, while Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga was represented by Doctor Haji Shobiyullah, the Dean's representative from the university.

Meanwhile, signing the MOU on UNISSA's behalf with Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and Amanah Institute of Islamic Finance and Economics (IIFE), Germany was Doctor Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Finance of UNISSA. Signing on behalf of IBFIM was Awang Yusry Yusoff, the Chief Executive Officer of IBFIM, while Amanah IIFE was represented by Doctor Muhammad Ashfaq, the Chief Executive Officer of Amanah IIFE.
