29 youths who participated in the 52-day Ship for South East Asia Youth Programme arrived safely in Brunei Darussalam last night. This year is Brunei Darussalam's 32nd participation since the country joined the programme in 1985.
The participants were welcomed by Dayang Zainab binti Haji Morshidi, Acting Director of Youth and Sports Development. The delegation was led by Awang Muhammad Ihsan Sabri bin Haji Abdul Manap. The programme is an international youth exchange programme conducted specifically for youths from ASEAN member nations and Japan organised and sponsored fully by the Government of Japan with the cooperation of ASEAN member nations since 1974. The programme aimed to strengthen understanding and international cooperation among ASEAN and Japanese youths aside from getting to know and learning activities in all aspects including a country's way of life, socio-culture, politics and economic development.
