A total of 107 final year projects by 201 Mechanical Engineering students were displayed yesterday at the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Laboratory of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) showcasing the students' range of abilities.

Out of the 107 projects, 58 were individual projects done by students of the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, with 21 group projects from the Foundation Degree of Mechanical Engineering students and 28 from the Higher National Diploma students.

The projects - completed within two semesters - were based on different areas of specialisation within the discipline of mechanical engineering, such as the thermo' fluids, manufacturing, design energy, and farm mechanisation.

Students selected projects according to their areas of interest and availability of supervisor on a particular project.

Prior to event, students submitted their research report, a partial fulfilment of the requirement for the Bachelor of Engineering (Hops) in Mechanical Engineering degree, Foundation Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Through these projects, students were able to demonstrate their independent learning, creativity, teamwork, practical skills and understanding of a particular topic.
