Signing Of Memorandum of Understanding

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam, NFABD, yesterday morning graced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony between NFABD and the Sports School, Ministry of Education. The ceremony took place at the NFABD House in Berakas.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education, Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and Awang Haji Madli bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Acting Deputy President of NFABD.

 

The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

 

In his welcoming speech, Awang Roslin bin Suhailee, the Secretary General of NFABD among other things expressed appreciation towards the Sports School for its initiative in involving its students in football development programmes arranged by NFABD. He added that under the MoU, 14 students will be involved in the programme as a start and will the joint venture search for students with potential will continue. Apart from providing training schedules and competitions for participation, NFABD will also share services such as technical, expertise, professional development and available resources.

 

Matt Letham, the Sports School Principal in his welcoming remarks expressed hoped that the signing of the MoU can produce more quality national football players.

 

The signing of the MoU was witnessed by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah. On behalf of NFABD, the Mou was signed by Awang Haji Madli, while the Sports school was represented by Matt Letham. Also present wasDatin Paduka Doktor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, deputy minister of Education. The signing of the MoU is another important event for NFABD as an organisation responsible in planning and implementing football development programmes in the country. The presence of His Royal Highness at the ceremony portrays His Royal Highness' continuous commitment towards the development of football in the country.
