Get To Know ASEAN Roadshow

Efforts have been taken to instil among secondary school students, a better awareness and more knowledge on countries that make up the regional organisation, ASEAN. The International Affairs Unit of the Information Department, as the Information Subcommittee Secretariat of the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) this morning held the "Get to Know ASEAN" Roadshow. The event took place at Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School in Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme.

 

Over 600 students from Year 7 to Year 9 attended the roadshow. The briefing delivered by Awang Isa bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Information Officer, among other things explained the history, motto and function of ASEAN. A quiz was also held to test the students understanding on ASEAN. Meanwhile, the nationhood briefing was delivered by Mohd Nurakram bin [email protected], Assistant Information Officer. The briefing was centred on the monarch, national flag and national anthem. The event is hope to strengthen patriotism among students.
