The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) has announced a nationwide NFABD Grassroots Football Festival 2016 in conjunction with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Grassroots for the year 2016, which will be held in partnership with DST.

NFABD is also working together with the Co-Curriculum Education Department of the Ministry of Education to invite students from schools to participate in the event.

The nationwide grassroots festival will kick off this Sunday at the NFABD House Artificial Pitch in the Brunei-Muara District before moving to the Arena Sports Complex, Seria in the Belait District on May 20.

Tutong District will play host at the Tutong Sports Complex on May 22 while the festival concludes at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex in the Temburong District on May 29.

The series of festivals, open for children from ages six to 12 years, are expected to start from 7am to noon.

All participants will be given a free participating jersey.

NFABD said in a press release that AFC would like to encourage member associations to organise activities to promote and emphasise that football is accessible and socially beneficial to everyone.
