Communicable diseases in the country can be properly controlled. And in the event of the emergence of Zika or others, the Ministry of Health provides a special allocation to tackle the problem. The Minister of Health explained the matter in response to a query raised by Yang Behormat Awang Iswandy bin Ahmad pertaining to allocation to control diseases that can be pandemic. In adding the explanation, the Minister of Home Affairs also outlined that his ministry also provides an allocation in the event such diseases emerges.

The allocation is sufficient and with the availability of the National Isolation Centre, it shows that the country is capable to tackle the problem. And in the future, the preparedness will be further improved. As for now, there is a lot of emerging of new diseases as well, so the Ministry of Health will always be on alert and take appropriate measures to ensure the preparedness are secure.

In any case if the outbreak of endemic diseases become pandemic, the National Disaster Management Centre with the cooperation of the Ministry of Finance provides an allocation under the Outbreak and Disaster that can be used by all ministries under the National Disaster Management Centre in any disasters or when the National Disaster Management Council announces a National Disaster.
