To strengthen the country's socio-economic stability, the government requires solid support from its citizens and residents. According to the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, this is in line with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's titah during the opening of the First meeting of the 14th Session of the Legislative Council for this year that highlighted the nation must consolidate its resources towards the growth of the Gross Domestic Product or GDP. Awang Mohamed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohamed Yunos was speaking during the Retirement Certificate Presentation Ceremony for the year 2015 to 2017 of the Prime Minister's Office and its departments, yesterday afternoon. Awang Mohamed Reza who is also the Chairman of the event said, the function was a show of appreciation to the retired officers and staff for their service and contribution towards efficient government services including upholding the initiative towards Wawasan Brunei 2035.
He hoped that the retiree's experience and knowledge can be shared to the public. Their contribution will help in shaping a new generation of authoritative and quality leaders, and assist future generation to be more independent and competitive.
382 retirees received their certificates and token of appreciation handed over by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. Also present was Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, The Commissioner of Police. The ceremony was held in honour of the officers and personnel who had devoted their time and energy throughout their tenure in the public service, especially for the Prime Minister's Office and its departments.
