To earn multitudes of blessing in the holy month of Ramadhan, the Mukim and Kampung Consultative Councils as well as a delegation from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the departments under it conducted a Tadarus Al-Quran ceremony.  The function was held yesterday afternoon at Kampung Layong Mosque in Tutong District.

Leading the delegation was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs, who also led the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah. This was followed by the reading of Al-Quran, Tahlil and doa selamat.  The function ran concurrently with the breaking of the fast and the mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer.  Such a ceremony is one of the ministry's annual activities to strengthen relations among the ministry, grassroots leaders, as well as residents in the said district. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, Members of the Legislative Council; Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; and Awang Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, the Acting Tutong District Officer.
