Al-Quran was revealed as guidance to the whole world. There are many ways to gain guidance from Al-Quran, the most important of which is by tadabbur or understanding its contents or teachings. The Ummah or Muslim nation should know what Tadabbur Al-Quran is. It is not just a terminology or expression but something that must be practised in order to understand and assimilate the teachings of Al-Quran in the quest for Allah the Almighty's blessings and guidance. The matter was shared during a Seminar on Basic Understanding of Interpretation of the Al-Quran for Youth in conjunction with the Revelation of Al-Quran Celebration 1439 Hijrah yesterday morning.

In attendance was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. Also present were Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The 'Tadabbur Al-Quran' working paper by Dr. Hajah Sarinah binti Haji Yahya, Assistant Professor of Usuluddin at the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA defined the meaning of Tadabbur al-Quran. She said understanding the meaning of Al-Quran's verses is much advocated and required through Tadabbur, which is studying as well as understanding properly and deeply the basic and hidden meanings of the verses.

The one-day seminar was organised by the Youth Religious Programme under the Ministry of Religious Affairs with the cooperation of the al-Minhaaj Centre.  The seminar was attended by more than 160 participants comprising 21 Groups of the Youth Religious Programme, associations, students and individuals.  Its aim was to provide the correct understanding on Al-Quran Interpretation and Tadabbur besides introducing major and suitable Tasfir Al-Quran or Interpretations of Al-Quran books for reference.
