The National Nuzul Al-Quran celebration will be held this Friday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.  To ensure the smooth running of the upcoming event, a full rehearsal was held yesterday morning. This year's celebration carries a theme 'Al-Quran Sumber Kepimpinan Adil' or 'Al-Quran, the Source of Just Leadership'.

Among those witnessing the rehearsal were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara and Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs, as Chairman of the Executive Committee For Major Islamic Events.

Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Dayang Norliah Binti Haji Kula, the Permanent Secretary for Performance at the Ministry of Finance, Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The celebration is organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs with the cooperation of the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance and Brunei Shell Petroleum Company, Brunei Shell Marketing Sendirian Berhad, Brunei LNG, and Brunei Gas Carriers.

Dayang Hajah Siti Mahyana Binti Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Yahya, Co-Deputy Secretary of the Nuzul Al-Quran celebration explained that among the highlights of the event is the announcement of the results of this year's Final of the National Musabaqah Al-Quran Memorisation and its Understanding, Special Talk and Presentation of Prizes to the winners in the 5 categories up for competition.
