From the JIS Arts Centre auditorium, Their Majesties consented to proceed for a separate function at the school.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam took a closer look at several of the school's facilities, including the classrooms. His Majesty's arrival was welcomed by Mr. Barnaby Sandow, Principal of JIS and Mr. Paul Bannister, Principal of JIS Junior School. Among the classrooms visited by His Majesty was that of His Majesty's daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.

JIS is a school based on the British School Tradition, offering comprehensive and dynamic education. With around 1 thousand 600 students from 55 countries, JIS has brought in skilled teaching staff from countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, China, France and Brunei Darussalam.

JIS, which turns 21 years old this year, not only provides comprehensive learning for its students, but also co-curriculum activities programme and world-class learning facilities for the future generation's education excellence.

His Majesty then toured the classroom of His Majesty's son, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Wakeel. In line with the school's main targets, namely leadership, active engagement, language, integration, thinking skills, participation and cooperation in the students development towards achieving excellence in any fields, Jerudong International School has managed to produce highly-skilled students.

His Majesty also consented to meet with the students and teaching staff. His Majesty's presence certainly brought cheer to the students, who will cherish their memories with His Majesty. The school's good achievement has helped the country in producing an educated and highly-skilled young generation, in line with Wawasan Brunei 2035.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri visited the JIS Nursery and Kindergarten. Her Majesty was welcomed by Datin Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education and Datin Paduka Magdalene Chong, member of the JIS Board of Director. During the visit, Her Majesty consented to mingle with the pre-schoolers, kindergarteners as well as teachers. Early education taught from a young age will help develop the minds as well as sharpen the creativity of the students with academic-based activities.

The joy of meeting and be up close with Her Majesty is a very valuable experience for the students and teachers. Such opportunity also encourages the teachers to produce a highly-skilled succeeding generation who are able to lead the country.

JIS offers international education to students from kindergarten up to A Level. It also offers full religious programme to Pre-University students and Malay language to local students in line with the wish of His Majesty's Government of producing students with calibre, innovative, creative and dynamic. JIS also plays a huge role in encouraging genuine international understanding.
