Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah this morning officiated the presentation of Tenderfoot Membership Badges, Warrant and Pre-Warrant Cards Nationwide to 287 members of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association.
Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness as the President of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association was greeted by Dayang Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim, the association's Chief Commissioner.
The ceremony began with the reading of Al-Fatihah and Doa Kesyukuran by Dayang Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani, the Spiritual Commissioner of the association.
This was followed by members of the association singing the National Anthem and the Girl Guides World and Asia Pacific Region Songs.
In her welcoming speech, Dayang Hajah Siti Hafsah among other things said that the association's members of all age groups starting from the Brownies, Girl Guides, Ranger Girl Guides, Young Leaders, Adult Leaders and Senior Citizens have carried top quality activities which benefited the member's growth.
The reading of the Girl Guides Oath was led by Dayang Nurul Wafaa binti Awang Mohammad, Equipment Secretary of the association and leader of the Menglait Secondary School Girl Guides, while the reading of the Brownies Oath was led by Dayang Azanah binti Haji Ahad, Leader of the Lambak Kanan Jalan 49 Primary School Brownies Pack.
Her Royal Highness then awarded the Warrant and Pre-Warrant Cards as well as the Tenderfoot Membership badge to the girl guides and brownies. The Warrant and Pre-Warrant cards are the prerequisite that enables leaders of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association to conduct girl guide activities for members of their units or packs. The Warrant Card recipients will receive guidance until they are considered capable to act independently following training in the association's programmes. 'Tenderfoot' membership badges enable members to participate in the association's activities and activities conducted by World Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Associations and to complete their educational programmes.
Her Royal Highness later presented the Environment Badge and the Green Thumb Project Participation Certificate to participants of the Green Thumb Project Phase One of the September 2017-february 2018 Session, and the 'Titian Kasih Kemasyarakatan' Emblem Challenge Phase Three-May 2018. The Green Thumb Project was launched in July 2017 and implemented in four phases and under different management.
