His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send messages of congratulations to His Excellency The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor-General of Canada and The Right Honourable Justin P.J. Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, as well as to the Government and people of Canada on the occasion of Canada Day.

In the message to His Excellency The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor-General of Canada, His Majesty expressed his great satisfaction for the warm and friendly relations shared by the two countries and people, and looked forward to more opportunities to deepen the bilateral and regional cooperation in the years to come.

In a similar congratulatory message to the Right Honourable Justin P.J. Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, His Majesty expressed great appreciation for the warm and long-standing friendship that the two countries have shared over the years and looked forward to further opportunities to enhance these ties.

In ending the messages to His Excellency The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor-General of Canada and The Right Honourable Justin P.J. Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, His Majesty conveyed his kindest regards and very best wishes to Their Excellencies and for the continued progress and prosperity of Canada and its people.
