​The Minister of Religious Affairs and wife have safely arrived after performing the haj, the fifth pillar of Islam. Flight BI 098 that carried Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman landed at the Brunei International Airport at 5.28 in the afternoon.

Present at the Brunei International Airport to welcome the arrival of Yang Berhormat Pehin and wife were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Acting Minister of Religious Affairs and wife; Hussain Mohammed M. Ad Dajani, Charge D' Affaires at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam; Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and wife; and Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin and wife performed the haj this year under the invitation as a guest of the government of Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of Religious Affairs expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform the haj this, and thanked the government of Saudi Arabia for the invitation and hospitality. Yang Berhormat Pehin also appreciated the noble efforts of the government of Saudi Arabia in the matters of improving haj management year after year.

The warm relation between the government of Brunei Darussalam and Saudi Arabia, and the systematic haj management have allowed haj management matters to run smoothly and in an orderly manner.
