By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the Ministry of Finance to be changed to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, it is hereby announced that the Ministry of Finance and Economy informs that His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented for the Department of Economic Planning and Development (JPKE); Trade Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB); and FDI Action and Support Centre (FAST) to be assimilated into the Ministry of Finance and Economy effective the 20th of September 2018.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy also informs the appointment of Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awg Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy as the Chairman of Brunei Economic Development Board, effective on the 8th of October 2018.
